More than 300 dinosaurs footprints have been found at this spot, designated Natural Monument #373.
About 100 million years ago (during the early Cretaceous Period of the Mesozoic Era), dinosaurs left
these footprints along the site of a river that flowed here at the time. Dinosaurs became extent 66
million years ago. Scientists have a number of theories about the cause of their extinction, such as
changes in their food chain and drastic weather changes resulting from meteors. The latter is generally
believed to be the most probable cause.
