Geumgang Park is located at the foot of Geumjeong-san on the Dongnae-gu side.
Strange rock formations, rock cliff faces, and a thick pine forest make a strikingly beautiful scenery.
A cable car runs to the top of the mountain.
In the park one finds historic sites such as Dokjindaeamun,
(the site of the inner gate of ancient Dongnae Castle), Mangmiru gate tower, Imjin Dongnae Soldiers
Tomb, a zoo, botanical garden, world sea life exhibition hall, and other amusement facilities.

Gate of Dongnae Magistrate's Office
During the Joseon period (1392-1910), this was the gate to the Dongnae Magistrate's office (designated
Busan Tangible Cultural Property #5). Originally located behind Mangmiru Gate Tower, it was moved
to this spot when the Japanese re-zoned the city. It is belived that a gate was first erected in 1626,
during the reign of King Injo, when Jeong Yang-p'il was then the magistrate. Magistrate Jeong
Hyeondeok rebilt it in 1870. The signboard in the center of the three-tiered gate reads Dongnae
dokjin daea mun, meaning the gate of the Independent Fortress of Dongnae. This refers to the fact
that the military fortress of Dongnae became independent of the Gyeongju fortress in 1655. Other plaques
explain the organization of the office.
Stele of Isopkyo bridge
This stele (designated Busan Monument #33) was erected when a stone bridge with three arches called
Iseop-gyo was constructed across the Suyeong-cheon (stream) between what are now Suan-dong and
Yeonsan-dong. It was built by Yi Huiryong, the magistrate of Dongnae, with help of a local guild.
The inscription on the stele records in detail the construction of the bridge and the names and titles
of all the people involved in the work. It explains that the previous bridge required continuous repairs
because the wood used to construct it rotted very easily. The local people decided to replace it with a
stone bridge and raised the necessary money in the winter of 1694. The bridge was built the next
spring.
Dongnae Fortress Stele
This stele (designated Busan Monument #16) is a memorial to Jeong Eonseop, the magistrate of Dongnae
who reconstructed the fortress wall in 1731, during the reign of King Yongjo of the Joseon period (1392-1910).
It lists the names and titles of the people involved in the reconstruction work. It is records that the
survey work was started in January, the walls completed in April, and the pavilion style of the gate in July
1731. The reconstruction involved 52,000 men and cost 4,500 sacks of rice, 1,550 yards of cloth, and 13,100
units of currency. The original fortress was destroyed during the Japanese invasions that started in 1592.
The reconstructed wall was longer than the original with a circumference of about 3.2 kilometers.
